Underestimated by Jettie Woodruff - Review and giveaway

© Janeane

Warning! This is not your everyday fall in love romance. This book contains disturbing situations, strong language, graphic, sexual content, some forced, some not. If it's your happily ever after love story that you are looking for, you should probably move on. If you are up for the ride, stick around and it may just turn into a love story after all.

Morgan starts her life in a bad situation, she doesn't really know what she wants out of life. She's never had anyone to look up to, or help guide her in the right direction. She had it rough, and never dreamed that it could get worse, however she finds that it can, and does.

She learns what real hell is when she meets the husband that she doesn't want to marry, but isn't given a choice. Can she escape? She can, and does only to wake up and find herself right back at square one

 Excerpt:

This could not be happening. It was like one of those movies that kept you on the end of your seat, waiting to see what happened. I went around the bus, and Derik was now right behind me. I shot back in front of the bus and took the next street to the right. I kept darting in and out of traffic, up and down different streets with Derik right on my tail.

I finally got out of the city enough to get some speed, still passing cars, illegally. I didn
t care. I would have loved for the cops to see me and stop me. They didnt, and I was left to fend for myself. I was a few cars ahead of him when I came up on a sports car with the top down, full of young girls. They were yelling and having the time of their life, but they were driving too slowly. I knew I shouldnt try it. I couldnt see if anything was coming from the little knoll.

I darted around them, and I was right. I shouldn
t have done it. Neither I nor the city bus driver had time to react before my car was under his bumper. I dont remember much after that. I could vaguely recall sirens, voices and the sound of a saw. I was hot. I was so hot, and I could smell smoke. Was the car on fire? Was I being cut out of the car? I didnt know. I was drifting away. I felt my body becoming lighter and lighter as I floated into the dark.

Im sorry, Dawson

Review
Morgan/Riley is one seriously messed up woman.  She doesn't want to be, but life and events have conspired against her to make her this way.  And she wants out of it.

Forced to marry Drew Kelley on her 18th birthday after being sold to him on her 18th birthday, things go from bad to worse.  No matter how bad her childhood was, nothing compares to married life.

After years of abuse, she finally gets up the nerve to leave - to disappear without a trace.

Morgan transforms herself into Riley Murphy and moves to small town Misty Bay, Maine.  She tries to keep her past a secret, but as she becomes closer to people, her secrets start to come out.

Falling in love with the small town Sheriff Dawson, she thinks she can have everything she wanted if she can keep Drew in her past.  But he has a way of messing with her head, even after all this time

A chance run in with her past leads to more complications for her new relationship, along with her old one.

Can new love with Dawson be enough to help her with her past..... for that you will have to read!

Jettie Woodruff has written a wonderful, heartbreaking story.  I could completely feel the horror that Morgan went through.  I may or may not have shed a few tears along the journey we are taken on.

And the journey may have taken us places like this:

and here:
Drew and Dawson are complete opposites.  Drew 1.0 is an evil, horrible being that deserves no sympathy, while Dawson is the sweet, loving, adorable man Morgan/Riley needs.

But then Drew 2.0 - hmmm nope, not going to talk about him.

Will Morgan get the HEA she deserves?  Read Underestimated to find out!

About the Author:
Jettie Woodruff is a practicing physician and has been a Civil War buff for decades. No. Not really, she is not a doctor nor is she a Civil War buff. She is however a goof-off and has a hard time being serious for too long.

She does enjoy a challenge when it comes to her writing. She feels as though she needs to pull every emotion possible from her readers. She wants you to be pissed off, questioning your sanity, depressed, happy, and hopefully turn your mind from wanting to cut the villain into tiny little pieces to loving him by the end of the book.

Underestimated was her first dark endeavor. It was a goal alongside of writing a series, a standalone romance, a young adult, which she can
t check that one off. She tried she really did, but her mind just doesnt work outside the gutter and it quickly became rated X.

Jettie lives on 163 acres in a rural part of
Ohio. She loves living in Ohio, except maybe the snow, and the long winters, maybe the hot summers too, Ah, hell, she hates Ohio. She does love the land and the solitude of the country. She just wishes it was in a geographically in a better part of the country.

Jettie has two grown children and one who will be eighteen in a matter of days. YES!!! She has also recently just had her first, cutest ever, most adorable, granddaughter in the whole world. Her oldest daughter just hit her with the news that she will be adding another grandchild to the family in February. Although she is sure she will fall in love with the little creature, she still can
t say the G word.

Jettie enjoys reading as much as she loves writing. She has way too many favorites to list, but one of her all-time favorites from years ago was the Casteel series from V.C. Andrews. One of her new favorites is C.J. Robert
s, Captive series. Reading it gave her that needed push that she required to say the hell with what people think and write Underestimated.

By day Jettie is wearing business attire and managing a mattress store. By night she is in front of a keyboard or her Kindle, wearing, well let
s not go there. Underestimated was her fifth book published. The first one was just shy of a disaster, not that it was a bad book. People liked it. She just knew nothing about it, no revising, no editing, just a spur of the moment. Oh, I wrote a book, lets publish it. Train wreck and a half. Her Star series was one of her favorites and is held dear to her heart. She is now working on an adult romance that should be live around the end of August, early September. She cant seem to stay focused on it at the moment, due to a much needed Bahamas vacation coming up with Adam Levines walking around half naked, buying her drinks.
