This seventh St. Barts book starts in 1979....
when Sunny's mom met her dad.
Madeleine was a 16-year-old french girl, staying on the island with her twin sister and aunt. And Doug O'Hara was a young canadian engineer on holidays.



Love at first sight for Doug - but since Madeleine was still too young, he wanted them to wait, to court her properly....

We switch between the past and the present.
In present time, Sunny and Sven are on a little much-deserved cruise in Venice (Italy, not at home in California!) Together with Linus and his pregnant wife Astrid (Remember? The mother of Sven's 23-year-old son Liam!)
Sven had been directing a movie, which made him stay away from home for four months, instead of the planned eight weeks.
The next film will be shot at home in LA, so that he can see his family every day.
But then a new offer comes flying in. Mikhail won't be able to direct his next movie due to health problems, and Sven has to go to France to direct Evangeline Rousseau's new film.
We already met that 'nice' lady before....but now, she's even more part of our story...

What happened in 1979?

I've loved this series from the first word I read ages ago....
And book 7 was just as amazing.



This time not focusing so much on our darlings Sven & Sunny.
It's basically Madeleine & Doug's love story. And their fight for a happy ever after.... which we know, from previous books, might not be so happy as they were hoping in 1979.

I cried a LOT while reading.



All those things that happened to Sunny's parents, and only we get to hear about it...Sunny doesn't know what happened back then. And she wants to know. While Sven is busy shooting the movie with that bit** Evangeline, Sunny is doing research into her mom's family....

I'm sooo in love with the whole atmosphere of the books - being in St. Barts must be soo amazing. I can almost see and feel and smell the beauty of the island. And I'm not a fan of sunshine. I'd rather live in Seattle than Miami.☺ But I'd totally move to St. Barts!

I don't want to write too much - you don't want to be spoiled ☺
Just know that I LOVE this series.
Sunny is such an amazing character! Just like her mother....
And Sven.... so adorable and kind of totally lost without his Sunny ☺ But he's grown up a lot.
And Madeleine & Doug...such a beautiful couple with so many problems to fight through...
And Bliss & Lennon - the mini Sven & Sunny - soooo adorable!!!
And Evangeline? Hm... she's a piece of work. There were moments, seconds rather, where I felt a tiny little bit sorry for her... ☺

This is such a beautiful series. An amazingly different kind of love story, with amazing characters.This time taking us from St. Barts to France to Canada to Moscow....
Please go and buy the books - you won't regret it - you will fall in love with Sunny, Sven + St. Bart's just like I did!

Can somebody please call Hollywood - I would LOVE to have a TV Show about Sunny & Sven and all the other Islanders!!!!
